Looking at the image of the linkage, Im not sure my pieces will fit, but once I get underneath and look around the 312s numbered area on the assembly image, my pieces might work.
Probably would total out less than the factory short shifter and feel much better. The only mods I had for the wrx was the perrin short shift adapter, the linkage bearing, and the shifter stop.
I'd go as far as saying to skip the STI short throw and just add in the Boomba plate, shift stop, bushing, and heavy knob and you're good to go. The available WRX Sport Package includes four STI 15-spoke black-finish alloy wheels, an STI performance exhaust system and an STI short throw shifter with an STI shift knob made of high-quality aluminum and leather. From what Ive read the sti short shifter doesnt make 'that' much difference. the generation of 6 speed short throw shifter that I bought is an older one. This is because the distance that the stick must travel between. For instance, with a short shifter, it is much easier and faster to get through the gears. However, anyone looking to take advantage of this type of shifter should always consider the short shifter pros and cons.
If you guys can get me pictures of the bottom linkage I can see if the Boomba short shift adapter (best shifter mod Ive done). One of the most well-known aftermarket shifters is the short shifter. I tried a Perrin before the Boomba and didn't like it at all. as the WRX, you guys should get the Boomba short shifter. Not that they aren't well made, but the lack of counterweight makes the shift very notchy and not fun to drive.

From neutral, it feels like it takes a tiny bit more effort to get into gear, but it was easy to get used to and now I love the feel of the shifter. 2-3 and 4-5 were also better than stock, but have a touch more notchy feel since you lose some momentum. Throws from 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6 were very smooth and quick. This also keeps your shifter stop looking nice forever. My WRX came with the STI short throw and after those mods, the throws became much shorter and crisper.
